Lee Yunjeong, my mother was devoted to the church for over 30 years. But, stopped going after the Sewol ferry disaster in 2014. After quitting church she started going to the office of a human rights group for migrants in Ilsan. She is busy helping the migrants in the community, along with that she has started visiting Hwaseong Foreigner Shelter(a national security facility that detains people subject to forced departure). She finds it difficult to do computer work for the first time, office work, and dealing with foreigners. To make matters worse due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the number of detained foreigners in the shelter is increasing and so are Yunjeong’s phone calls. As Yunjeong’s daughter and the director of this film, I began to film her because her transition looks amazing, unfamiliar and cool.
