Senji is a well-known figure in Japan as Lovedoll Oji-san(Uncle). As a 63-year-old, he has lived with a Lovedoll for ten years. Due to countless broadcasting stations from all over the world visiting him for an interview, his daily routine is quite hectic. Accepting every concept and shooting proposal, he introduces himself as a pioneer for living with a Lovedoll.
“You can’t trust people. AI is more equal.”
In 2018, an AI candidate running for Tama City mayor has gone viral. The candidate’s name is Michihito Matsuda(44), an independent candidate.
After his defeat, Matsuda travelled around Japan as a Japan AI Party representative. He is now running again for the 2024 Tokyo gubernatorial election. By teaming up with other tech gurus, he’s persuading why AI is essential in politics.
Senji, who is living with a Lovedoll due to his disappointment in people, and Matsuda, who claims that AI will reach a singularity and become a god in the future, have a lot in common. Both of them call themselves underdogs through their distrust of humans and lean strongly towards far-right political views. On the contrary, they both crave constant human interactions and attention, which seem quite contradictory.
