MASQUERADE Lands in Japanese Top 10 in During First Week

Film to Be Adapted for the Stage in Korea
Masquerade starring LEE Byung-hun, which opened at 90 theaters in Japan on February 16th has drawn over 42,000 admissions during its first weekend of release. This is the highest score among Korean films which have opened in Japan in recent times. The film made it into the top ten best selling movies of last weekend. Masquerade came up tops in the audience satisfaction score according to a Japanese film information site on February 18th.
Japanese viewers said, "LEE's performance of the two characters were as if there were two different actors. Amazing acting." and "this is the best performance by LEE." Some praised the film's beautiful costumes and props.
Meanwhile the film has been turned into a stage play in Korea starring BAE Soo-bin and it will open on February 23nd. The stage version is to have a different ending from the film.
