New action noir God’s Trick, starring JUNG Woo-sung and LEE Beom-su, began shooting on August 26th. JO Bum-gu, whose filmography includes Quick (2011) and Three Fellas (2006), is directing the revenge flick about a man who goes after a group of Korean checkers swindlers who cheated him and led him into a state of despair. Actor JUNG Woo-sung will attempt to continue his change of image, which began in Cold Eyes, with his role as Tae-suk, an ex-checkers player who sets out on a mission to get payback against the people who involved him in an incident that put him behind bars.

The film boasts an impressive cast including The City of Violence (2006) and Over My Dead Body’s LEE Beom-su who plays Tae-suk’s archrival, the Korean checkers swindler Sal-su, and Killer Toon and How to Use Guys with Secret Tips’ LEE Si-young who will  play Bae-kop (belly button), an ex-checkers player who sides with Sal-su. In addition, the veteran actor who has continuously reinvented himself through main and supporting roles in numerous films, AHN Sung-ki returns to the screen as Joo-nim (Jesus), a blind Korean checkers player. He will be joined by Born to Sing’s KIM In-kwon and CHOI Jin-hyuk, who has been gaining recognition for his supporting performance in the TV drama KangChi, The Beginning.

The film will be funded and distributed by Showbox/Mediaplex Inc., which holds titles such as The Thieves and Mr. Go. The distributor is scheduling the theatrical release of God’s Trick for the first half of 2014.
