Second Born in Pre-production Stage
A film was confirmed as Director PARK Chan-wook’s second Hollywood film after his Hollywood debut work Stoker. The new film is Second Born. The sci-fi thriller will explore a black market where human bodies are swapped in a futuristic world with microchips that can store human memories. At the moment, the film based on a screenplay by David JAGERNAUTH and is in the pre-production stage. The project will be implemented by director PARK, producer David LANCASTER of Rumble Film and JEONG Won-jo who produced Stoker, Day Trip and Night Fishingdirected by PARK Chan-kyong.
Producer David LANCASTER of Rumble Film planned and produced Drive and Only God Forgives, both of which were directed by Nicolas Winding REFN who nabbed the Best Director Prize at the 2011 Cannes International Film Festival. Recently LANCASTER at his film studio Rumble Film produced Nightcrawler (2014) starring Jake GYLLENHAAL and Whiplash (2014) which was well received at the Cannes International Film Festival and the Sundance Film Festival this year. PARK made his Hollywood debut via Stoker starring Mia WASIKOWSKA, Nicole KIDMAN and Matthew GOODE in 2012. Park is now preparing to shoot Agassi based on an original novel by British author Sarah WATERS.
