80s Set Thriller to Be Set in Berlin

Popular actor LEE Jong-hyeuk has signed on to star alongside LEE Beom-su in the forthcoming period thriller In the Line of Fire. The film will mark the directorial debut of NOH Kyu-yeob, formerly an assistant director on 2008’s Portrait of a Beauty.

LEE Jong-hyeuk will play a North Korean officer who is the villain in a tale of a man searching for his family in Berlin circa 1986.

Most recently seen in the 2014 thriller The File, LEE Jong-hyeuk has appeared in several major Korean films, such as A Dirty Carnival (2006), Crush And Blush (2008) and Hindsight (2011), but is perhaps more well known to viewers for his work on the small screen, which includes the leading role in Dating Agency: Cyrano and Bubblegum (2013).

LEE Beom-su has been a fixture of Korean films since the early 1990s. His recent major roles include antagonists in this summer’s Operation Chromite, alongside Liam Neeson and LEE Jung-jae, and opposite JUNG Woo-sung in The Divine Move (2014).

Also slated to appear in the film are YEON Woo-jin and PARK Hyuk-kwon. YEON has previously appeared in Seondal: The Man who Sells the River and IM Kwon-taek’s Revivre (2015), while PARK is a prolific character actor with roles in The Client (2011), A Break Alone and Proof of Innocence.
