LEE Joon-ik’s period drama, Anarchist from Colony has landed in the United States. The film is scheduled to have screenings in major cities in the U.S, starting with Los Angeles, California on June 29th then moving on to Orange County on June 30th and in to Dallas, Texas on July 7th. It is doing better than Okja and REAL at the domestic box office, surpassing 1.4 million viewers in only five days. It has also provided English subtitles for foreigners living in Korea since June 30th. English subtitled screenings of the movie are available at the MegaBox theater in Songdo, Incheon.

LEE Joon-ik directed Anarchist from Colony in 16 months after his previous Colonial drama, DONGJU; The Portrait of A Poet (2016). Anarchist from Colony is based on the true story of independence fighter PARK Yeol and his Japanese comrade and lover Fumiko, who fought against Japanese imperialism hiding the massacre of 6,000 Koreans in 1923. Audiences have paid attention to actor LEE Je-hoon who gave gripping performances in Architecture 101 (2012) and Bleak Night (2011) and rookie CHOI Hee-seo who has appeared in DONGJU; The Portrait of A Poet and Okja. In addition, as director LEE is famous for periodic films, his latest film offers up moving messages through historical investigations.
