ONE WAY TRIP Director Returns with Runaway Youth Drama

PARK Jung-min will play a leading role in the upcoming coming-of-age film Ignition (translated title), which will be adapted from the webtoon by CHO Geum-san. Joining PARK will be busy leading man Don LEE (aka MA Dong-seok) and JUNG Hae-in.

The story will focus on a teenage runaway, played by PARK, while LEE will play a reformed gangster now working as a chef in a Chinese restaurant. JUNG will play the friend of PARK’s lead character. Ignition will mark the second directorial outing for CHOI Jeong-yeol following One Way Trip, another youth-focused drama that debuted at the Busan International Film Festival in 2015 and featured RYU Jun-yeol among others in its cast of young stars.

After gaining broad notice for his star supporting turn in LEE Joon-ik’s DONGJU; The Portrait of a Poet (2016), PARK has become a visible face in mainstream films, with recent credits including YEON Sang-ho’s Psychokinesis and LEE Joon-ik’s Sunset in My Hometown.

Ignition joins a long list of project on Don LEE’s slate, as the star has been especially busy over the last year or so, having appeared in leading roles in seven films since THE OUTLAWS in October last year, with several more projects in various stages of productions. Among those were the sports drama Champion, the fantasy epic Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days and the recent action-thriller Unstoppable.

New face JUNG Hae-in featured in the period drama Heung-boo: The Revolutionist earlier this year. Once casting is completed, production on Ignition will kick off during the first half of next year.
