CHUNG Chung-hoon to Lens Next Edgar WRIGHT Film

Frequent PARK Chan-wook Collaborator Set for LAST NIGHT IN SOHO


CHUNG Chung-hoon, the world-famous cinematographer who made his name by serving as the director of photography for most of director PARK Chan-wook’s defining works, has signed on to shoot the upcoming psychological horror Last Night in Soho, the next film of director internationally renowned director Edgar WRIGHT.

After starting his career in the late 1990s, CHUNG became known after handling photography on Old Boy (2003). Since then, in addition to other major Korean works such as Antarctic Journal (2005), The Unjust (2010) and New World (2013), he has shot all of director PARK’s films. This included the director’s English-language debut Stoker (2013), on which his work drew the attention of Hollywood. He continued to work in America on Me, Earl and the Dying Girl which he followed up with the horror update of It, which became a global sensation in 2017. He most recently worked on Zombieland: Double Tap, which is due out for release later this year.

From Edgar WRIGHT, the director of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Baby Driver, Last Night in Soho is described as a psychological horror film and it will star Anya TAYLOR-JOY, Matt SMITH and Thomasin MCKENZIE. The film is currently in pre-production and gearing up for a London shoot starting in late May.
