ASHFALL Star to Return to Theaters in February

Though he is still tearing up the box office charts with the smash hit disaster action spectacle ASHFALL (2019), Korean superstar HA Jung-woo will be back on screens next month in The Closet, his first ever horror film. HA co-stars with KIM Nam-gil in the picture, which marks the directorial debut of KIM Kwang-bin.

The film concerns a father, played by HA, who loses his daughter in his new home, where they moved after losing his wife in an accident. He enlists the help of an exorcist, played by KIM, to track her down.

Director KIM Kwang-bin, who graduated from Chung-Ang University, is known for short films such as Modern Family (2011), which picked up the First Prize from the Dubai International Film Festival, and How to Pick a Lock (2016). He first worked with HA, another graduate from Chung-Ang, when he worked in the sound department of YOON Jong-bin’s The Unforgiven (2005), HA’s breakout film.

HA Jung-woo has had a steady stream of hits since 2008’s The Chaser, including The Yellow Sea (2010), The Berlin File (2013), Assassination (2015), The Handmaiden (2016), Tunnel (2016), Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds (2017), 1987: When the Day Comes (2017) and Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days (2018).

KIM Nam-gil was recently seen in the horror-comedy THE ODD FAMILY : ZOMBIE ON SALE (2019). His prior hits include The Pirates (2014), Pandora (2016) and MEMOIR OF A MURDERER (2017).

The Closet will be distributed by CJ Entertainment, which was also responsible for ASHFALL (2019).
