After Japan and Taiwan, a Series of Overseas Release Confirmed

Director Shin Suwons film Hommage has been invited to the London East Asian Film Festival. This is the 8th invitation to the overseas film festivals after being invited to the 18th Glasgow Film Festival, the 34th Tokyo International Film Festival, the 21st Tribeca Festival, and the 69th Sydney Film Festival in Australia. The London East Asian Film Festival, which marks its 7th anniversary this year, is Britains largest Asian film festival and has introduced the best Asian films each year to European audiences. It’s Director Shin Suwon’s 2nd time to be invited to the festival since Light for the Youth in 2020.

The movie Hommage features a middle-aged female film director who restores the old films of a first-generation Korean female film director and depicts a journey wittily between daily life and fantasy through time travel crossing 1962 and 2022. Especially, Lee Jungeun of PARASITE has played her first solo lead role with great performance, continuing to be well-received not only in Korea but also abroad.

Along with the invitations to overseas film festivals, a series of overseas releases were also reported. It is already being prepared for release in Japan. When the film was premiered at Tokyo Film Festival, local audiences responded, Hommage is full of love and homage to films. It is an amazing work that opens up the possibility of going all the way.

Hommage will also be released in Taiwan in the second half of this year. AV-Jet International Media, a distributor that introduces various Korean and European art films such as The Novelist's Film, An Old Lady, Moonlit Winter, etc. to Taiwanese audiences, is in charge of distributing the film Hommage. An official from the distributor said, Taiwanese audiences can empathize with the story of the film by exploring social issues that can be seen not only in Korea but also in Taiwan. A number of Taiwanese audiences have been waiting for Director Shin Suwons next film. Especially in this movie, since Actor Lee Jungeun, who is popular in Taiwan, plays the lead role, we expect a more successful result.”
