It Won 2 Prizes, the Grand Prix at the Competition Section and the Cinegar, the Critics’ Award

Director Jung Hayong's Anemone: A Fairy Tale for No Kids won 2 awards at the 32nd Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival, receiving the Grand Prix and Cinegar Award Prize. It is the first time in 11 years that a Korean film has won the Grand Prix for the features at the Yubari International Film Festival since director Oh Youngdoo's Invasion of Alien Bikini.

The film, Anemone: A Fairy Tale for No Kids, is Director Jung Hayong's 2nd film, who debuted with the film, Possessed, which was officially invited to the 24th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. Anemone: A Fairy Tale for No Kids is a black comedy that depicts a bizarre turn of events a day worker named Yongja is going through when her unemployed husband miraculously wins the lottery with the numbers she gave him. Actors Jung Yirang and Park Sungjin starred in the film. Sioda Toshi, the programmer of the Yubari Film Festival said, "This is the film that strongly makes fun of the real world." 

In the International Short Film Competition, Tonight I Won't Be Eaten, directed by François Gaëlle, won the Excellence Arts Award, making 3 Korean films win at the festival. Director François Gaëlle from France came to Korea to learn Korean culture and language and ended up entering graduate school. Tonight I Won’t Be Eaten is a graduation work from the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film at Chung-Ang University. 

The Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival, which marks its 32nd anniversary this year, is the oldest fantastic film festival in Asia, which began in 1990 in Yubari, Hokkaido, Japan. It screens visual and entertainment-rich genre films such as SF, horror, fantasy, adventure, action, suspense, etc.
