THE ROUNDUP and NEXT SOHEE Won the Best Asian Feature, Chun Tae-il and PERSONA Won Best Animated Feature and Short

On August 5 (local time), the 26th Fantasia International Film Festival unveiled its audience-winning films in each category. Among Korean films invited to the festival, a total of 4 films, THE ROUNDUP, NEXT SOHEE, the animations Chun-Taeil, and PERSONA received the Audience Awards.

First, THE ROUNDUP (Directed by Lee Sangyong) won Gold Award, and NEXT SOHEE (Directed by July Jung) won Silver Award for Best Asian Feature. Chun-Taeil (Directed by Hong Junpyo) won Bronze Award for Best Animated Feature, and PERSONA (Directed by Moon Sujin) won Silver Award for Best Animated Short. 

As for the animated film Chun Tae-il, it won the Special Jury Prize at the 46th Annecy International Animation Film Festival, followed by the Fantasia International Film Festival's Audience Award, marking its 2nd award at the overseas film festivals. Also, PERSONA, which was invited to the 75th Cannes Film Festival, won its 2nd award at the overseas film festivals after winning the Crystal Award, the Grand Prix in the student competition category at the 46th Annecy International Animation Film Festival. 

At the 26th Fantasia International Film Festival, Korean animation films were outstanding. For the first time this year, the ‘Korean Animation Spotlight’ was held, showcasing a total of 44 Korean animations. There was also news that many Korean films won awards at the festival. Director Kim Kyoungbae's AMEN A MAN won Gold Award in the AXIS (SATOSHI KON AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN ANIMATION) Best Animated Short Film category and Director Kim Changsoo's THINGS THAT DISAPPEAR won Silver Award. Director Park Sungbae’s YOU CAN FLY! won the Special Mention by the POULAIN NOIR COMPETITION (the Young Jury of My First Fantasia) category.
