Squid Game, Won 2 Awards at Hollywood Critics Association (HCA)

It Won Best International Series & Lee Jungjae’s Best Actor in a Streaming Series

 


 

Squid Game, a Netflix Original Series that sparked a global fever, won two awards at the Hollywood Critics Association (HCA) TV Awards in the United States.

 

At the ‘HCA TV Awards 2022’ held in Los Angeles on August 14 (local time), Squid Game won the Best International Series through the competition with popular series such as Narcos: Mexico, Money Heist, etc. Also, Lee Jungjae, the lead actor of the series, won the Best Actor in a Streaming Series, beating out prominent candidates such as Gary Oldman, Tom Hiddleston, Adam Scott, etc.

 

Director Hwang Donghyuk said, "It's been a year since the release of Squid Game, and I believe the series has overcome the limits of a non-English series to create many historical moments and breakthroughs. I do hope to create a better 2nd season and share it with all the fans and critics around the world." Actor Lee Jungjae said, "I am sincerely grateful for giving me such a big award. Squid Game is a huge luck for me," delivering his gratitude.
