Actor Lee Jungeun of Hommage Won the Best Performance Award at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards

Winning Awards in a Row Following the Best Actress Award at the 7th London East Asia Film Festival

 


 

Actor Lee Jungeun of the film, Hommage, won the Best Performance Award at the 15th Asia Pacific Screen Awards. Following the Best Actress Award at the 7th London East Asia Film Festival, she once again won the best actor award at the international film awards.

 

The 15th Asia Pacific Screen Awards ceremony was held on November 11 in HOTA (Home of the Arts), Gold Coast in Australia. Director Shin Suwon of the film, who participated as a jury member in the youth, documentary, and animation categories, received the award on behalf of Actor Lee Jungeun. In particular, for the first time this year, 5 candidates for the best performance award were selected regardless of gender, and Actor Lee Jungeun was selected as the final winner. 

 

Actor Lee Jungeun was nominated for the leading film festival in Korea, including the Buil Film Awards, the Chunsa Film Festival, and the Grand Bell Awards, for her first solo starring role in 30 years. In addition, a series of winning awards at overseas film festivals proved her outstanding performances as a leading actor. 

 

The Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA), which began in 2007, is an international film awards event approved by UNESCO, a foundation partner organized by the Asia Pacific Screen Academy, and the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF). Among the thousands of works from about 70 Asia-Pacific regions, the final 5 works from each country are selected and won in categories such as Best Feature Film, Achievement in Directing, Best Performance by an Actor, Best Performance by a New Actor, Best Screenplay, Achievement in Cinematography, Best Youth Feature Film, Best Feature Documentary, and Best Animated Feature Film, etc. 

 

Hommage is an art fantasy buster that connects 1962 and 2022 and contains a witty and fantastic journey between daily life and fantasy through cinema time travel across the present and past of a middle-aged female director who restored the film made by the first-generation female film director in Korea.
