Korea’s Showbox has unveiled a trailer and a release date for horror mystery “Devils Stay.”

Directed by Hyun Moon-seop (“Nightmare Teacher”), the cast includes Park Shin-yang (“My Lawyer, Mr. Jo,” “Man on the Edge,” “The Big Swindle”), Lee Min-ki (“Crash,” “My Liberation Notes,” “Very Ordinary Couple”) and Lee Re (“It’s Okay!,” “Peninsula,” “Hellbound”).

“When Seung-do (Park Shin-yang), a heart specialist, and his wife find their daughter So-mi (Lee Re) showing strange symptoms by the day, they decide to attempt an exorcism ritual. Upon arrival, priest Ban (Lee Min-ki) is sure there is the devil inside her, and the ritual seems to drive it out successfully, but ends in So-mi’s sudden death. As her funeral begins, Seung-do, who notices some strange signs in So-mi’s body, confronts his conviction that she may not be dead yet, and her heart is still beating. No one believes him, especially priest Ban, who strongly opposes him saying that it is by the menacing spirit inside her. During three days of So-mi’s funeral, they must each uncover the terrifying truth about the mystery, and prove who is right, to save her,” reads a synopsis supplied by Showbox.

The film is a Showbox presentation of a I Film Co Ltd production in association with Mayday Studio..

“Devils Stay” will release in Korea Nov. 14.

In what has been a challenging period at the local box office for Korean cinema, Showbox enjoyed blockbuster success with Jang Jae-hyun’s “Exhuma,” headlined by Choi Min-sik, the veteran Korean actor who previously starred in “Oldboy” and Korea’s all-time box office record breaker “Roaring Currents.” With more than $84 million at the Korean box office, “Exhuma” is one of the biggest hits of the year.

Showbox’s slate includes Lee Chang-hee and Yurson Fuadi’s crime drama “The Verdict,” headlined by Indonesian stars Reza Rahadian and Rio Dewanto; Kim Do-young’s drama “Us and Them” (working title), starring Koo Kyo-hwan and Mun Ka-young; Hong Eui-jeong and Park Sun-woo’s mystery thriller “White Blast,” starring Kim Yun-seok and Koo Kyo-hwan; and Choi Yun-jin’s drama “Big Deal” (working title), starring Yoo Hai-jin and Lee Je-hoon.
