The Witch: Part 2. The Other One Came in 2nd, Passing break-even Point, The Roundup Ranked 3rd, Exceeding12 Million Viewers

Top Gun: Maverick, which became a hot topic with Tom Cruise's 10th visit to Korea, topped the box office on the first weekend of its release. According to the Korean Box Office Information System (KOBIS) of the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), Top Gun: Maverick reached the top with 1,127,175 moviegoers from June 24 to 26. Its sales accounted for USD 9.6 million, 57% of the sales share. The total audience of the film since its release on June 22 is 1,526,319.

It is the first time in 6 weeks that an overseas movie has topped the weekend box office. The Roundup, which was released in the third week of May, topped the box office for 4 weeks, followed by The Witch: Part 2. The Other One, which was released last week, ranked 1st place at the box office over the last weekend. Top Gun: Maverick has become the world's most successful film released this year, surpassing $1 billion at the box office not only in Korea but also worldwide. Among the films released in 2022, Top Gun: Maverick is the only one with sales exceeding $1 billion. 

The Witch: Part 2. The Other One and The Roundup were ranked 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The Witch: Part 2. The Other One attracted 402,346 audiences over the weekend, recording 2,241,525 viewers in total. Surpassing 1 million viewers in 4 days and 2 million viewers in 11 days after its release, The Witch: Part 2. The Other One showed a faster record than the previous episode, The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion, passing break-even point with 2 million viewers on June 25. 

3rd place is The Roundup, adding 318,863 weekend audiences (15.6% of sales share), surpassing 12 million viewers in total. The total number of audiences of The Roundup over the weekend is 12,044,414, surpassing the record of Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War (11,746,135 total audiences), ranking 16th in Korea's box office history. 

4th place is Pixar animation Buzz Lightyear with 49,375 viewers over the weekend, and 5th is Broker, Actor Song Kangho’s Best Actor winning film at Cannes, with 42,924 viewers over the weekend. My Perfect Roommate, the new film during the week starring Actor Na Moonhee, ranked 10th at the box office on its opening weekend.
