With Honest Candidate 2 & Life Is Beautiful, 3 K-Movies Made Top 3

The comic investigation drama Confidential Assignment2: International, starring Hyun Bin and Yoo Haijin, topped the box office on weekends for 4 consecutive weeks, beating new films. According to the Korean Box Office Information System (KOBIS) of the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) on October 4, Confidential Assignment2 : International topped the box office with 437,000 viewers during the public holiday from September 30 to October 3. From September 30 to October 2, the number of audiences reached 304,019 over the weekend and 133,799 on the National Foundation Day of Korea on October 3.

Confidential Assignment2: International, which continued to top the box office until the weekend of the 4th week of its release, recorded 6,213,825 viewers in total. As a result, the film went beyond the box office record of Marvel's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and made it into the Top 4 box-office hits this year following The Roundup, Top Gun: Maverick, and HANSAN: Rising Dragon. It is also the 3rd Korean film to reach 6 million viewers this year. 

The new comedy film Honest Candidate 2, released on September 28, was ranked 2nd with 244,535 audiences over the weekend and 96,444 audiences on the National Foundation Day of Korea on October 3. The film is a sequel to Honest Candidate, the political satirical comedy released in 2020. The sequel has been ranked No. 1 at the box office since its release on September 28, being cited as a competitor for Confidential Assignment2. 

3rd place at the weekend box office is the musical film Life is Beautiful, which was released on September 28. Life is Beautiful, the first jukebox musical film in Korea, drew 152,258 viewers over the weekend. During the weekend, the new animated films Crayon Shin-chan: Shrouded in Mystery! The Flowers of Tenkazu Academy had 128,788 audiences, and Hello Carbot the Movie: The Secret of the Suspicious Magic Troupe had 81,532 audiences, ranked 4th and 5th in the order. 

The number of weekend moviegoers from September 28 to October 2 are 1,047,217 in total, which is a slight increase from 948,812 viewers last week.
