Confession, Topping the Weekend Box Office for 2 Weeks After Released

Korean Film REMEMBER is 2nd Place, Black Adam Secured 3rd Place

 


 

Korean thrillers continue to be strong in the autumn theater district. Confession, which was released on October 26 and topped the box office on the weekend, maintained the top spot at the box office over the weekend, even in the 2nd week of its release. According to the Korean Box Office Information System (KOBIS) of the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), Confession dominated the weekend box office with 172,278 audiences and 35.5% sales from November 4 to 6. So, the total audience of Confession exceeded 530,000.

 

Confession features a young businessman who is accused of murder and is in the biggest crisis of his life, working on a puzzle of the case with a 100% winning lawyer. Actor So Jisub, who challenged the first thriller genre, Actor Kim Yunjin and Actor Nana, who collaborate with him, drew attention with their outstanding psychological acting.

 

REMEMBER, starring Lee Sungmin and Nam Joohyuk, remained in 2nd place at the box office on the weekend. REMEMBER recorded 69,486 weekend audiences with 13.9% sales. Compared to the previous week, the difference in sales between Confession and REMEMBER was more than double. The total audience of REMEMBER is 366,887.

 

DC's new superhero film Black Adam is chasing closely. Black Adam was ranked 3rd place at the box office over the weekend, recording 64,317 viewers and 13.3% of sales on the 3rd weekend of its release. The total audiences are 755,366. 4th place is animation Crayon Shin-chan: Shrouded in Mystery! The Flowers of Tenkazu Academy and 5th is the multiverse action drama Everything Everywhere All at Once, starring Michelle Yeoh, going one step up from the previous week with 241,471 viewers in total. Life is Beautiful won 6th place. Highway Family, starring Jung Ilwoo and Ra Miran, which was released on November 3, entered the weekend box office at No. 8. 

 

Marvel's new film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is scheduled to be released on November 9, and the box office landscape is expected to change over the 2nd weekend of November.
